Beginner Agility introduces the student to clicker training. This method is an established training concept where you “mark” the behaviors your dog produces with a “click” and food reward. This class teaches you how to train your dog to perform a variety of tricks. These tricks help your dog learn how to use their body in preparation for more advanced training in the sport. Training will include: impulse control, stay, hand touch, nose touch, foot targeting, right and left turns, sit, down, stand, go in a crate, crawl forward and backward, sit up and beg, get in a box, get onto platforms and balance equipment, ladder work, and single jump coordination. There is no experience or specific equipment required to take this class. Training your dog in the comfort of their home allows both the dog and trainer to work at their own pace, maximizing success before transitioning to a more complicated training environment.
